Gost butterfly valves are Non rising stem, spring loaded check valves with cast iron bodies and pressure balancing discs.The metal to metal disc cannot be disassembled until the valve reaches the required position of the six lugs machined on the disc. The disc contacts an O-ring packing to provide a seal at low operating pressure.
